Before
I left everything I knew: my family, my country, and my culture. I was beginning a whole new chapter in my life – from scratch. It was exciting and scary at the same time. But my service in the Israeli Air Force empowered me and drove me to reach for even greater heights. After 2 years in a community college in LA, I was ready for the next part of my journey – a full university experience at Columbia University School of General Studies.
Present
Now I'm in New York City, working on cutting-edge research projects with leading scientists, collaborating with professors, and helping lead courses as a teaching assistant. I knew that if I wanted to be one of the top physicians in the world, this was the place to be. I was definitely right – my time here at GS has been the experience of a lifetime and my latest launch pad.
Future
My next step? Medical school, my residency, and becoming a cardiovascular surgeon. All adventures begin with some uncertainty – mine did – but it never stopped me from reaching for more.
